You know a new business is close to opening when suddenly their social channels begin firing on all cylinders. So, while there is nothing concrete to report yet on when Two Hound Red Microbrewery will open in Glen Ellyn, there probably will be soon.
If you want to follow along, check out Two Hound Red on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Their Instagram account has been periodically dropping photos of progress, and their Twitter and Facebook accounts have been ramping up recently after being mostly dormant since they annouced plans for the brewery in 2016.
I cannot believe it’s been that long that we’ve been waiting for them to open up shop at the former Schmid Pharmacy.
Here’s their most recent post just a couple days ago:
Here we got a sneak peak at a menu item, and it looks pretty tasty. It’s called “Whipped Ricotta with Orange and Honey finishes and Micro Greens on grilled bread.”
From their original business plan, this is what we know so far about the menu:
Two Hound Red would revolve around a farm-to-table concept, with the food being locally sourced as much as possible. The menu would include such items as pulled pork poutine, chicken satay, burgers, steak and frites, salmon, meatloaf and pizza.
That is an interesting assortment of menu items. I would suggest perfecting a few dishes before expanding to EVERYTHING, but I trust the beer will be good enough to wash down whatever does end up on the menu.
Below is their progress via Instagram, in chronological order:
